Girl Power indeed; Shampoo product has Formaldehyde
It’s confirmed! The favorite shampoo of all time, Sunsilk includes formaldehyde as one of the ingredients of the product. Formaldehyde, commonly known as formalin, is a chemical used in manufacturing and chemical industries and as a preservative by anatomists, embalmers, and pathologists.
Formalin is a colorless, strong-smelling gas widely used in household products, such as glue, wood products, permanent press fabrics, flooring, cabinets, and furniture. Being exposed to formaldehyde may increase the risk of developing leukemia and brain cancer.

Sunsilk has formaldehyde but there are still no claims of danger using the shampoo.
Filipino consumers were alarmed especially that the government is monitoring products from China such as toys and food items that contain formalin. Unilever Philippines, producers of Sunsilk, already admitted that the product contains a very small amount of formaldehyde that still made Sunsilk safe for public use. Formalin is hazardous when ingested and there is still no proof if a small amount used in hair products such as shampoo can penetrate the scalp.
