Philippines Government Employees to receive Christmas Bonus
President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo will give a total PhP10,000 performance bonus for the government workers who served at least four months. According to Press Secretary Ignacio Bunye, the performance bonus is will be given due to good economic situations the country experienced in the year.
The Press Secretary also added that all government employees will receive the cash money whether hired or permanent, temporary, casual or contractual basis as long as they rendered service of at least four months as of November 30 of this year. All employees who served less than four months from the cut-off date will receive a lower amount on a pro-rated basis.
Budget Secreatry Rolando Andaya announced that employees will wait not later than December 17 to receive the bonus. The minimum amount an employee can get is PhP7,000 and can reach up to PhP10,000 depending on the savings of their agencies.
It would be recalled that the government workers received PhP6,000 Christmas bonus last year. The benefits shows a sign of robust economy and uplifted performance from the government.
The Christmas Bonus will let employees for rush shoppings with the season.
